Agro Processing Value Chain (APVC) & Biofuels
- Agro Processing Value Chain is a vertical created for making available whole gamut of high-end agriculture technology including Biotechnology and Agro Processing adding value to the products.
- High value products will be targets by ways of technology and IT inability of agriculture and allied activities through leading academic institutions and organizations.
- Hi tech laboratory and financial institutions linkage will be made available preferably for women entrepreneurs under Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries activities of APVC.
- Joint Venture and partnership will be worked out with leading technology providers for APVC, especially for women folks of rural backward class communities in Maharashtra.
- The APVC vertical is working in coordination with various organizations to provide support to the beneficiaries under the convergence of various schemes of the central and state government especially for women empowerment.
Task Force on APVC & Biofuels
- The MAHAPREIT has set up the Task Force on APVC to suggest various initiatives in APVC & Biofuels to develop and integrate backward and forward linkages of specified agro products and adding value to the produce by processing and marketing.
- The Task Force on APVC will coordinate with all concerned agencies like APEDA, SFAC (Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium) and FPO/ SHG for better value produce.
- The Task Force will tie up with Knowledge and technology providing centers like NIRD, IRMA, APMAS, ISAAA, VSI, YASHADA, BARTI, Agricultural universities, KVKs, and other institutions in the government and private sectors.
- The Task Force will explore to enable MAHAPREIT to work as one of the implementing agencies of the government and will help in getting the involvement of the MAHAPREIT in some projects like MSRLM, PoCRA, MAVIM, MSAMB including coordination with various development corporations and departments of the GOM to ensure convergence of various schemes.
- The Task Force will guide to prepare Action Plan under APVC in the area of Agriculture and Biofuels to ensure end-to-end solutions in agriculture and allied activities such as APVC, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Fisheries, Waste to Energy projects, Biofuels, and training and capacity building programs for the beneficiaries.
ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 2023-24
- The plan covers various activities under the Agriculture and Allied sectors such as Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Fisheries and waste-to-energy projects to generate self-employment opportunities for the Scheduled Caste communities/ beneficiaries of the MPBCDC in Maharashtra.
- Considering the climate change and environmental solutions we have proposed to plan and implement various projects for self-employment generation such as Waste to Energy projects (Biomass to CBG/ Briquettes/ Pellets), projects under National Millet Mission, National Policy on Agroforestry and various schemes of the government under convergence.
